Miss Babs also has some beautiful gradient and non-gradient sets that would work well. Background colors such as “Quicksilver” “Slate” and “Chirp” make nice background colors in a single skein of Yummy 2-Ply.

Garter stitch dances around knot stitches in various combinations, and ends with a simple repeat of lace. Nothing is very difficult, which is just the kind of design I like to publish! If you’d like to see a bit more of it, fast forward to the end of my first podcast.

Materials

One 6 skein yarn set of 100 yard minis (gradients will also work) plus 400 yards of main color sock/fingering yarn. Shown in Quaere Koi Pond set.

Lace

The lace is written out and charted. Note that the written lace instructions are in a separate PDF. The charts are in the main pattern. If this causes riotous actions among knitters I can make it into one large PDF. I’m betting everyone will be a good sport about it, though, because that’s the kind of knitters you are.
