Kresse by Elise Sachse

Kresse

Beyer 228: called “Kresse”
Pictured pg. 16 as part of a mosaic. Fig. 20.

Called “Clematis” in Band 711 and in Filigrane Spitzendecken.

Instructions on back of chart sheet, chart Fig. 17, photo page 10.

Includes instructions on how to join 7 doilies together to make a tablecloth.

Original instructions call for crochet thread Nr. 90 and “Stahlstricknadeln Nr. 3/0” (between modern 1.25mm and 1.5mm) for a finished single doily size of 25 cm diameter.

Note: Elise Sachse’s charts have a particular quirk which seems to be unique to her style - she almost always uses k2tog-tbl instead of ssk for a left-leaning decrease. The symbol she uses for this is a double-diamond in a single box, and it’s a symbol rarely used by other Beyer designers.

The chart for Kresse uses this double-diamond symbol.
