Kukui is knit from the bottom up in pieces then sewn together. The neck stitches are all held on stitch holders, then after sewing they are worked together for a simple garter stitch neck trim.

Yarn Requirements:
Shown in O-Wool’s Balance yarn
50% organic merino wool, 50% organic cotton
50 gram hank = approx 130 yards
7 (7, 8, 9, 9, 10, 11) hanks in color 2158 Tourmaline, or approx 850 (910, 1025, 1125, 1235, 1325, 1440) yards in a comparable earth-friendly yarn.

Knitting Needles:
One pair each size US 5 and 6 (3.75 and 4 mm); one 29” circular needle size US 5 (3.75 mm)

Gauge:
19 sts and 29 rows = 4” in Stockinette Stitch with larger needles; 20 sts and 35 rows in Garter stitch with smaller needles, stretched vertically. Take time to save time, check your gauge.
