This impressive 120 stitch ethnographic mitten is from the Alsunga region in the District of Kurzeme, Latvia. The cuff begins with a sequence of knit and purl rows consistent with mittens dating back to the 18th Century. A total of six colors are needed for this mitten with three colors being carried contemporaneously in much of the cuff. The upper mitten is knit in two colors, contains the Moon Cross graph and is knit at a fine gauge.

Changes to the needle size or yarn will impact the finished size. Check your gauge before casting on.
