This ethnographic mitten from the District of Kurzeme is knit in three colors throughout the upper mitten. It begins with 2 x 2 ribbing for the cuff. A band of two color stranded colorwork sits at the base of the upper mitten. This band is bounded by monochrome half braids and purl rows similar to over knitting at the juncture between the ribbing and the upper mitten.

Three colors are used throughout the upper mitten. This mitten requires five different colors.

Vainode is located east by southeast of Liepaja in the Southern Kurzeme region.
