Cold frosty air can “rob” us of breath and make us bundle up to the eyebrows - La Bandita will protect your nose and ears in a more stylish way. This scarf stays around your neck and won’t get lost after the first gust of winter!

Simple construction includes double-crochet and you can adjust the size to fit the amount of yarn available. The cowl in the photo was made using a dk weight hand-dyed wool/silk blend but any commercial yarn of dk or worsted weight can be used. Choose a soft yarn that won’t feel itchy against your neck.

This pattern is formatted to print as a double sided booklet. If you would like a portrait sized single page pattern, please contact me.

Size: One size fits most adults and the optional drawstring lets you fine tune the fit. After blocking the neck opening is approximately 20” around and the front point is 19” from the top edge.

Materials

  • Yarn: DK weight 231 yards, preferably from Black Dog Fiber Studio ;-) Cowl in photo was made with a hand-dyed 50/50 merino/silk blend

  • Hook: 4.00mm (G), or size required to obtain gauge and produce a fabric that is soft and drapes well.

Gauge: Measured on unblocked fabric: 4 sts and 2 rows = 1”
