Design Sometimes you know the exact inspiration behind a design.
My daughter and I was visiting a beautiful bay in Spain in the very beginning of summer. I had brought along some blue yarn in a sublime quality, not knowing exactly what to knit.
One day an elegant lady caught my eye; she was wearing a loose, sleeve-less sweater with a pair of white jeans; and I made a copy-cat of her elegant and relaxed style:)
This kind of loose sweater could be worn with almost everything, although my favorite is a t-shirt and a pair of trousers, I can see it over pretty, printed blouses, polo-necks, used with a camisole underneath only…..

Construction
The sweater is worked top-down and seamlessly. The upper back and fronts are worked flat, pieces are joined at underarms and the lower body is worked in the round. The rolled hem and neck-edging are worked in the round from picked up sts.

Sizes
The sweater is suppoesed to be oversized. The sample is worked in size 41” - giving 7inches of ease:) You have 4 sizes to choose from: 41/44/47/49” (finished bust-measurement).

Materials
Yarn I used Shalimars “Breathless” which is of fingering weight. This yarn comes in skeins of 115gr/4.06oz and 384meters/420yards. You will need 3/3/4/4 skeins of this yarn to work the top.
Needles You need straight or circular needles to work the upper back/upper front. You need a long, circular needle to work the lower body. You need a smaller, circular needle 1 size down to work the rolled hem and rolled neckline. I used needle size 3mm/US2.5, this is a suggestion only.

Gauge
In rib-pattern (k3, p1, k1, p1) 30 sts and 36 rows = 10x10cm/4x4”.

The pattern
The pattern gives all necessary stitch-counts. All measurements are given in cm’s as well as inches. There is a schematic.
This knit would suit an average knitter. Apart from the provisional cast-on and picking up of sts there are no difficult techniques involved.
