Crochet a mini version of man’s best friend: the popular Labrador Retriever. I designed this amigurumi with realistic proportions: folded ears, strong chest, narrow hips, tapered tail, and articulated toes on his paws. Make a black, yellow, or chocolate lab. Create a gift for a dog lover or a special remembrance of a beloved pet.

Finished dog is about 6.5 inches (16 cm) tall, 5.5 inches (14 cm) from nose to tail, and stands on its own. You will need an E/3.5mm hook, worsted-weight yarn, stuffing, two 9mm black eyes, and a 15mm black nose (or you can embroider the eyes and nose with black floss).

Pattern is for those with intermediate crochet skills and basic needle-work skills. Parts are made in spiral rounds. To make dog, you will need to know how to:
-- read a crochet pattern
-- chain
-- slip stitch
-- single crochet
-- single crochet decrease or invisible decrease
-- half-double crochet
-- double crochet
-- basic needlework such as whipstitch

Pattern includes:
-- definitions of stitch abbreviations
-- materials list, including recommended yarn brands and colors and where to find mat’ls
-- instructive color photos
-- links to helpful online crochet tutorials
