I wanted to showcase my recently acquired lace-knitting skills by making something beautiful and feminine for my mother. Looking through a few knitting books, I got inspired to put four lace patterns together. The edges of the Lace Blanket Shawl are worked in one lace pattern, and the main body is three lace panels worked at the same time to give a highly textural blanket that is beautiful to look at and warm to snuggle under.

Needle: US size 8 (5mm) 24” (or longer) circular needle

Notions: 8 stitch markers, tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)

Yarn: KnitPicks Swish Worsted (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 110 yd101m/1.76 oz 50gm; CYCA 4): Dove Heather, 11 skeins.
