Skills required: Provisional cast on, knit, purl, yo, m1, k2tog, p2tog, skpo and ssp.

Gauge: Exact gauge not required.

Needles: Circular or double pointed needles in size 3mm (you’ll also need straight needles if you don’t want to do it in the round, however I just use DPN’s because they’re shorter!), crochet hook for the provisional cast on (you can do whichever provisional cast on you want, I just prefer the one with the crochet hook, yarn needle for sewing in the ends.

Materials: Some of your leftover yarn (I’m using Unitas’ Mirabela yarn and I can make three or four bags with one 50g ball of yarn. But I haven’t measure it and I’m only using the left over yarn so I’m not sure), some scrap yarn in a contrasting color for the CO and some kind of cord or ribbon for the drawstring.

Notes: I recommend that you go up a needle size than the one you normally use for the yarn you chose. I’m a tight knitter so I found that if I use my normal size, the bag ends up being too stiff (which is fine if that’s how you want it to be, however the bag is designed to be light and airy!).
