This is a fun intermediate cape to knit. I chose some yarn from my stash that had a little sparkle to it. Originally I was going to make a shawl but I only had 2 skeins and couldn’t find any more so it became a cape - wrap with an icord tie front. A shawl pin could also be used as a closure.

The lace knitting stitch used in this project is only a 2 row repeat and I chose this stitch because I like the way it has scallops on the ends. To knit this cape you will need to know how to knit, purl, yarn over, knit 2 stitches together, knit 3 stitches together. Once you get the hang of the pattern and the repeats it is fairly simple to follow.

Gauge is not critical for this project since it is a one size accessory. The size of the cape is 32 in. around and 18 in. wide at the back. The cape is very stretchy and will stretch as it is placed around the shoulders. If you want a wider cape you can keep knitting to make it longer - instructions given in the pattern on how to measure around yourself to customize the fit.

Yarn needed to complete this project is a DK weight approx. 400 to 420 yards. Any items made from this pattern can be sold but the pattern is my original design.
