A vertical hole pattern on the main part of the poncho has been combined with a horizontal hole pattern at the edges to make a very elegant garment. The whole poncho is knitted in one piece. First knit the lace pattern on the neck as a long band, then pick up the stitches of the poncho along the straight line of the neck and knit in the round. Finally, knit on the lace pattern along the edge.
