Knitted in a fine, slightly tweedy yarn and an easily-memorized lace stitch, this wrap will provide almost weightless warmth for any season.

Use less yarn for a shorter wrap, if desired. The original sample used approximately 6.5 skeins of Shibui Knits Pebble, for a blocked length of 80” / 203 cm. Six skeins would be sufficient for a wrap of 72” / 183 cm; a full seven skeins will give a very versatile and wrap-able 87” / 220 cm.

The wrap could be worked in almost any weight of yarn, with appropriate adjustments to yardage, needle size and number of stitches at cast-on. The chart indicates stitches per pattern repeat.

Row-by-row written instructions are provided as well as a chart for the eyelet pattern

Please keep in mind that while gauge is not critical for this project, any difference in gauge may affect yardage required.

Experience level: Advanced beginner.

Many thanks to Kristin Ford and her team at Shibui Knits for the offer of yarn support which gave me the opportunity to develop the idea for this piece, and also to test-knitters NapaGal, torontoknitter, and TheKneedler.
