This is not a pattern but rather a tutorial on a sequence of skills used in lacework

The skills are taught through a series of videos (live links within the tutorial), written intructions and small projects, starting with the basics and progressing through to the more challenging concepts.

This is an Experienced Skill level tutorial.

The projects are miniature shawls and each of the projects can be extrapolated into full size pieces. (Instructions for enlarging included)

There are 5 segmenst to the tutorial:

  1. Overview of basic lace skills, how to read a chart, blocking, gauge, increase/decrease balance, double yarn-overs, 2 types of provisional cast ons, adding a knitted-on lace border and blocking the final project.
  2. Skills covered - creating a center cast on, working in the round on two 24” circular needles, how to use Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Pi Shawl concept, placing lace designs within shawl sections, adding a knitted-on lace border, grafting a border, blocking the final piece.
  3. Skills covered - creating a garter tab, increases in lace and maintaining the lace pattern, adding lace designs to fabric, mitering a lace corner, and blocking

The materials list is included with the introduction upon purchase.
