Lacy Cables Hat

Knitting
November 2013
Worsted / 10 ply (9 wpi) ?
18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in over St st using size 7 (4.5mm) needles.
US 7 - 4.5 mm
US 5 - 3.75 mm
200 - 225 yards (183 - 206 m)
Woman’s Medium (one size fits most)

A clever combination of design elements: bands of lacy cables on a purl background form a uniquely lovely ribbing.

Knitted Measurements
Brim circumference 22”/(56)cm

Andrea Magliesceau, The Woolie Ewe, Plano, TX

Needle size corrections: Since this pattern is knit from the top down, the cast on and crown are worked on US 7 needles. I originally wrote this hat starting on two circulars (or 3 double-pointed needles), switching to one 16-inch circular after the final increase row. Then, switch to a US 5 16-inch circular for the ribbing.
