Any crochet thread of similar thickness can be used for this pattern, however the recommended yarn is very soft and less slippery than other crochet thread.
The socks are knitted top down and have a double hem with a picot edge, the lace pattern is knitted in the shaft part and also on top of the foot, everything else is knitted in plain stockinette.
