I usually like to let my sweaters take center stage, but sometimes I want to show off a nice blouse or tank top. I recently sewed a silk tank top embellished with flowers and beads, but I haven’t worn it much because I didn’t have a cover-up that would let the tank top shine. So I designed this open-front cardigan with a gap in front that would display any central designs on a shirt worn underneath and also be lacy enough to allow any other special features of the garment to be seen. But worn with a plain shirt, the cardigan can easily be the centerpiece of the outfit.
