From pattern description on One Planet Yarn and Fiber:

Ready to move on from your basic stockinette or ribbed socks? Try these easy lace socks and you can even pretend you knit cables while all you did was yarn overs and decreases. The socks have gusset increases, a slipped stitch heel flap, and a round heel, but they are knit from the toe up. Surprised? So will your knitting buddies be when you tell them!
