This baby sweater has a cute lacy design in the bottom of the jacket as well as the sleeves. Also the front of the edge on the bonnet and top of the booties. Its a simple 8 row repeat. The good thing about the pattern is there is actually 4 rows. But the second 4 rows start in a different stitch to cause the lace pattern to staggered. It will fit from a Newborn to 6 months.

The pattern also includes a cap, bonnet, 2 bootie designs and 2 mitten designs.

There is also a missing “YO”. Row 3 for girls sweater in the first section it say P2tog, P1, K1. It should read P2tog, YO, P1, K1. Please noted it on your pattern.

The size could vary depending on the yarn you use. Dreambaby DK seems to be a little smaller than the Red Heart or Bernat. Also the style you knit could make the sweater bigger or smaller. So gauge is important.

There is a video on Youtube to show the lace pattern rows and the basic steps to making this pattern. Simply search Youtube for “Lacey Baby Raglan Jacket” I use 24” circular for the Jacket because I keep off the stitches on the needles even after I separate the sections to I can Knit the sleeves then the body. I use 10” straight needles in size 6 to do the bonnet and booties. I show two different ways to knit the bonnet. To knit it flat you would cast on stitches to make the sides of the bonnet then sew it together once completed. I like to pick up stitches along the sides of the bonnet back and knit, that way I don’t have to sew a seam which can be thick sometimes. The choice is yours.

With the Bernat and Red Heart yarns you would only need on skein because it is so full. With Dreambaby, two skeins would be needed. It is done in small put ups.

If you are unable to find the Plymouth Dreambaby DK and you would like to use it, I carry it in my store. I also do mail orders. Check out my website at www.ViolasEmporium.com. It also shows additional items, yarns, video and soon kits will be available.
