This lacy shawl pattern is so delicate and feminine that it reminds me of something from a bygone age, however with the addition of tassels, it has been given an updated, more modern feel, which I really love.

It is designed to be worn as a shawl, but also makes a perfect blanket scarf, if you prefer, and it would also look perfect as a baby blanket.

I have named this design ‘The Murlough,’ after the beautiful Murlough Bay on the North coast of Northern Ireland, which is my home country, because this shawl reminds me of something you would wear on a romantic stroll along the beach!

The shawl is sized to fit adults (roughly 64 x 24 inches when complete). You will need light weight (category 5 / DK) yarn to complete the project. The pattern is suitable for beginners, containing well known stitches, such as single crochet and double crochet. It is written in standard US terms.

I love helping others get creative, and so I offer free support via email, should you need help with any aspect of the making process. You can also tag me #WeeYarnDIY on social media to share your creations with our community of makers.

Blessings,
Melanie
