Zig-zag cable scarf with picot hem and lacy leaf scalloped sides.

The scarf has two zig-zag cables in the centre, leaf-shaped graduated scalloped edgings at the sides (the stitch count varies for the edge panels) and a picot hem at each end.

The scarf in the photograph was knitted in rose pink Debbie Bliss Angel on size 3¾mm (9) needles and took almost 2 x 25gm balls (approximately 400m). Any 3/4ply lightweight soft yarn could be used instead, but more yarn may be needed and the size will vary according to the thickness of yarn used.

After lightly pressing the scarf using a steam iron it measures approximately 7” wide and 57” long. All measurements were taken with the scarf lying on a flat surface.

The pattern contains both typed instructions and a chart for the zig-zag cables and leaf edgings.

This beautiful scarf could be made into a shawl by adding more repeats of the lacy zig-zag cable pattern.
