This pattern was originally published as Happy Knits’ contribution to the 2014 Rose City Yarn Crawl, February 27 - March 2, 2014 in Portland, Oregon.

The Ladd’s Circle Cowl was inspired by the rich history of the neighborhood Happy Knits is nestled in. Ladd’s Addition is the oldest planned residential development in Portland and is well known for its gorgeous houses, diagonal streets and rose gardens. The color choices in the cowl reflect the era in which the vintage homes were built and the gorgeous roses that encapsulate the area.

Yarn - 2 skeins of Hudson by Jill Draper Makes Stuff (100% Merino Wool; 240 yards/100g) or other worsted yarn of your choice.

Needles - US #8, 32” circular needles (a longer length up to 60” would also work).

Notions - Crochet hook (sizes E, F, or G will all work), short length of worsted weight waste yarn, preferably cotton, darning needle, and stitch marker.

Skill level - Advanced beginner (provisional cast on, picking up stitches).
