This pattern is knit bottom-up. The only seams are under the arms. Bottom ruffle is worked as you knit. Sleeve and neck ruffles are worked separately, then joined to main fabric by working sts together from ruffle and sleeve or neck. The raglan decreases are worked on WS rows, so familiarity with purl side decreases is essential (p2tog and ssp.)

I originally knit this pattern in fingering yarn as listed. I knit a second sample (pastel pink) using a sport weight yarn (Wendy Peter Pan DK - which I find, and Ravelry agrees, to be lighter than true DK, so a bit of a misnomer IMO). I had to adjust the needle size to get the same gauge, and the second sweater is slightly thicker, but otherwise, the substitution worked well for the pattern.

Pattern has been tech edited and test knit.

BONUS!!! The last page of the pattern features instructions for making a coordinating head wrap.
