I often am asked where I get ideas for new
designs, and just as often I don’t have an answer!
With animal purses I think it started with a picture
of a chicken. The shape of the chicken reminded
me of a purse. From there the ideas just kept
coming and more animals turned into purses. With
the basic techniques given here, I bet you can
figure out a few more yourself. I think a monkey
is next for me!

This is a two for one pattern! A lamb and a duck that are very easy to make. It is crocheted using basic single crochet, increases and decreases. The bag is felted in the washing machine and with a minimum of hand stitching becomes a very fun bag to carry.

Recommended yarn: Worsted weight feltable wool (Cascade 220)

Recommended hook size: N

Finished size: about 9”x10” The finished size will vary with the yarn you use and felting time.
