Pattern notes:
This pattern includes instructions for knitting a lion hat and a matching diaper cover with a tail.
The hat is knitted first and then the faux fur is sewn on using the thread. The ears are made and attached on top of the fur. The ties are then attached and braided. A little tuft of fabric is sewn onto each end of the ties.
The ribbing of the diaper cover is knit flat. Then the knitting is joined and worked in the round, until you reach the leg openings. It is then knit flat again. Kitchener stitch is used to join the back stitches. A piece of wide elastic is sewn into the ribbing.
The tail is made using an i-cord machine, but you may make an i-cord without the machine, if you so desire. The tail is then sewn to the back of the diaper cover and another small amount of faux fur is attached to the end of the tail.
