Cowls have topped the trendy accessory list for many seasons now, and it’s easy to see the appeal. The cozy loop of fabric that never needs adjusting is an easy fix for a boring outfit and an effortless way to broadcast your love for yarn. They’re just as welcome at home, when lounging around a drafty house, denying that the time for radiators and hot water bottles is nigh.

The Lana Cowl is proportioned to offer just a little warmth and a flattering bit of color. The stitch pattern has a distinctive right and wrong side, both attractive. Cat Bordhi’s Moebius cast-on creates a permanent built-in half-twist, so that both sides are on display. This method takes a bit of patience to get going, but once underway, the knitting is enchanting.
