This poncho is knitted with heavy worsted weight yarn. A provisional cast on is used and the body is knitted from the neck down, so the length can easily be adjusted.

The circular shape is achieved with evenly spaced increases placed between the bands of colorwork. The oversized turtleneck collar is knitted from the provisional cast on.

The colorwork is easy- this would be a great “first project” for someone who wants to try stranded knitting.
