Construction

The body is worked flat from the bottom up to the armholes, in stocking stitch with a reverse stocking stitch seam. The sleeves are worked in the round up to the armholes, then joined to the body and a raglan yoke is worked.
The front lace panel (for which both written and charted instructions are provided) is worked separately and then seamed in.
Finally, the shawl collar is worked using picked up stitches and a couple of short row sections to give it extra volume.
The pattern features waist shaping for a more flattering fit, with darts at the back and single lines of decreases at the front.
