From Stitch ‘N Bitch Nation:

This design is dedicated to my coworker Erin, because without her I would never have realized that I needed a pair of alligator mittens.  Erin came in to work one day with a pair of child-size alligator mittens that her great-grandmother had knit more than 20 years ago.  The mittens were really cute, but so small that Erin couldn’t wear them without stretching the heck out of them.  Everyone at work wanted a pair, so I told them I would try to create my own version of the mittens for children AND adults.  This pattern is the result.  One warning:  Wearing these mittens may lead to impromptu puppet shows!

ERRATA: Under Mouth directions, 6th line down should read: Work even in garter stitch for 10(20, 26) rows.
