I’ve always liked the look of the Lavalette shawl, but since I’m not much of a knitter, I figured I’d offer up my crochet take on this shawl. I didn’t select a specific yarn to use, because that is up to you and whether you want a light and flowy shawl or a thicker shawl that you can snuggle up into. This pattern will work with anything from fingering to bulky yarn and a 5.0mm (size H) hook.

As a bit of a change, there isn’t actually a written pattern for this. I have provided a chart and, I hope, a thorough enough explanation to get you through it. I tried to write it, and it was like my brain just wouldn’t let it happen. But it is a very simple design, so I hope you won’t have too much trouble with it. Read all the way through before beginning, and please do get in touch if you have any problems.
