Laverne works in a sweet shop, filling paper bags with sherbet pips and the other old-fashioned sweeties that inspired these socks.

Yarn: The Knitting Goddess Britsock Yarn (40% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 20% Wensleydale wool, 20% alpaca, 20% nylon; 400m 440yds per 100g skein) 1 skein in Tangerine Sorbet.

Needles: 2.5mm UK 13-12/US 1-2 80cm 32in circular needles or DPNs (or size needed to get correct tension) Stitch markers, Tapestry needle, Cable needle.

Tension: 36 sts and 50 rounds = 10cm 4in over st st
37 sts = 7.5cm 3in over chart B, C or D cable pattern
24 rounds = 5cm 2in over charted cable patterns.

Sizes: Small (Medium, Large)
To fit foot circumference: 20.5 (23, 25.5) cm 8 (9, 10) in
Actual foot circumference of sock (unstretched): 14.5 (18, 20.5) cm 5¾ (7, 8) in
Length of leg to top of heel flap: 16.5cm 6½in
Foot length is fully adjustable within the pattern.
