From the pattern:
Leaf and Acorn Lace Scarf is a beautiful hybrid of both Shetland and Canadian lace knitting. The body (ground) of the scarf is adapted from Marianne Kinzel’s “Second Book of Modern Lace Knitting”. It is one of the most popular ground stitch for scarves, shawls, bedspreads and curtains in Shetland lace knitting. The scarf is edged on one side with a very wide leaf and acorn lace motif, which is from “Home Work, a Choice Collection of Useful Designs for Crochet and Knitting Needle.” p313-p314. “Home Work” was collected, corrected and arranged by A.M. Published in Toronto, by Rose Publishing Co. in 1891.
