A breath of fresh garden air no matter what the season, the Leaf and Pod Shawlette is deep crescent-shaped. It is knit from the bottom up, starting with a Falling Leaves Lace Border, and topped with a Japanese Bobble Stitch Border. The shawlette achieves its crescent shape by knitting short rows in garter stitch in the body. I knit my shawlette in Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light fingering weight yarn, but this shawlette can also be knit in sport weight with good results. I used only one-420 yard skein to knit it. After blocking, it measures 12 inches at the center, deepest point, and is 6 feet end to end. Full written instructions and charts are included in the pattern.
