Leaf Lace Edge with Corners
This is a lace edge pattern that I created to boarder a baby blanket. It is a 10 row repeat, and has additional instructions using short rows to turn corners.
I adapted the leaf lace from Lace Panelled Baby Blanket
by Sarah Bradberry to create this boarder. This edging would be a great addition to that Lace Paneled Baby Blanket.
I used size 8 needles, and sport weight yarn (pictured is Patons Beehive Baby Sport in color Delicate Green) to get a delicate but strong and flexible feel appropriate for a baby blanket. But you could use whatever size/weight combination you like for this type of lace.
My blanket and the inner edge of the lace measured approx 48” x 48”. I did 20 repeats of the pattern before beginning the corner repeats. This used a little less than 2 skeins of the Patons yarn mentioned above.
I hope you enjoy this pattern! Happy knitting!
PS the textured fabric used for the blanket pictured is called Soft n Comfy Dot Fabric in color Fair Aqua from Jo-Ann’s. I also wove a thin ribbon into the inner part of the edging to add a nice finish.
