Such a delicate scarf with Leaf and Flower Basket Lace patterns. The use of short rows makes for curved arc lower edge full of leaves. The body is filled in with an easy lace stitch, and the picot folded hem gives the top of the scarf a nice substantial edge.

The scarf is knit in one piece from the bottom up so you will need a #4 circular needle at least 29” long. I used a double strand of Misti Alpace Lace yarn, 3 skeins. That works up to about 550 yds of fingering weight yarn. For best results in blocking and showing off your lace work, use a wool or wool/blend yarn. Soak your finished piece for at least 30 minutes and block for at least 24 hours.

You will need to have experience with wrap and turn and concealing the wrap stitch. Or is this time to learn a new technique. Lots of tutorials out there, both in print and on-line.

I hope you truly enjoy your new project. Please e-mail with any questions, would love to hear from you.
