Updated pattern: The original cast on has been changed to eliminate the “v-shape”. Some stitch definitions have been clarified, and formatting has been changed for clarity. A note has also been added about simplifying the increases.

A light shawlette pattern knit from the neck down. It features twisted stitch designs traveling over a purl background, edged with a leaflette border in lace.

Size: 40 inches across by 19 inches deep.
If you want to make a larger shawl, rows of the twisted stitch lines can continue to be added until there is a stitch count repeat of 48+16 to start Chart G. For example, after chart F, each additional 24 rows will put you at a stitch count ready for the final chart G.

The pattern uses a little more than a skein of Hazel Knits Artisan sock yarn, but 1/4 skeins and 1/2 skeins can be bought on her website (so you don’t have to buy 2 skeins of yarn! although you must ask if you want them to be from the same dye lot).

Includes charts and corresponding written instructions.
