Leafy Baby Blanket
A quick project on larger needles, using two strands of yarn. I was inspired to make it as my good friend was having a baby, and the nursery theme was “In the Woods”.
It’s a lace pattern that uses left and right slanting decreases on both right and wrong side rows. The pattern has both charted and written instructions.
The gauge is approximately 1 pattern repeat (15 sts) = 11,5 cm. As this is a blanket, you can easily play with it, making more or less of pattern repeats.
I used less than 6 skeins of yarn for mine.
Please note, if you are knitting English style, you may easily loose yarn overs that are followed by purl stitches. I recommend using stitch markers to separate each lace repeat to make it easier.
Errata (for those who downloaded the pattern before the 31st of July 2011):
Written instructions, row 5 should be: (p2, k 8, k2tog,k1, yo, k2), p2
Thanks to MarjorieLouiki, there is now a French version available, and MsSunshine76 has kindly translated the pattern into Spanish!
Italian version seems to be no longer available - please let me know if anyone knows of the new link!
Thanks to Gilma Elias for the Portuguese translation!
Here’s correction for Portugese version:
“17row: (2t, 3m, Lacerda, 2m, MS, 6m), 2t
(2t instead of 2m).
I hope it helps other brasilian or portuguese knitters.”
