This pattern uses the following stitches: knit (K), purl (P), slip one stitch as if to purl (Sl1), yarn over (YO), and pass the slipped stitch over (PSSO). It really is easy enough for a beginner to make.

NOTE: When you slip the stitch you will have knitted the stitch before it, and you will keep the yarn in back (as you would if you were going to knit the next stitch), but you will slip the stitch as if you were going to purl it. Then, you knit the next stitch, and do a yarn over (YO). You will then pass the slipped stitch over (PSSO) the one knitted stitch and the yarn over.

The nubby texture of the cloth, although it is very soft, is great for exfoliating your face or for getting food off the dishes! :-)
