This is a sampler scarf designed to help someone learn or expand lace knitting skills. There are no charts in this pattern. The instructions are fairly detailed. The pattern is appropriate for an adventurous beginner or beyond. Very experienced lace knitters may still enjoy the variety of this scarf and may not need all the detailed instructions but should pay attention to the transition sections for stitch count changes.

Gauge is not critically important because this is not a fitted garment but at this gauge I used almost all of my two skeins and there were less than two yards of yarn left after completing the scarf. Please make sure you have enough yarn to complete your project!

For beginners, a light colored yarn will provide the best ability to see your stitches.
