Stomping in crunchy piles of dry leaves is a favourite pastime of mine. This hat was inspired by the cooling temperatures and beautiful colours of Fall.

Sizing
Newborn (Baby, Toddler, Child, Adult SM, Adult L)
Fits head approximately: 14 (16, 18, 20, 21, 23)” in circumference.

Yarn
Heavy DK/ light worsted weight yarn
MC: 60 (60, 70, 80, 90, 100) yards
CCs: 15 (15, 15, 20, 20, 20) yards in each of 5 (5, 5, 6, 6, 6) CCs

(Sample shown in a variety of worsted and DK weight yarns)

Gauge
20 sts & 28 rounds / 4” in stockinette on larger needles
20 sts & 24 rounds / 4” in colourwork on larger needles

Needles
US #5 / 3.75mm & US #7 / 4.5mm
(or as required to achieve gauge)

Newborn and baby: DPNs* in both sizes.
All other sizes: 16” circular in both sizes and DPNs* in larger size

Alternatively you can use the magic loop technique to knit in the round using a single long circular needle.
