“With dunes that rise high over Lake Michigan offering sweeping views, acres of farmland filled with cherry trees and grapevines, describing the Leelanau Peninsula with words alone is difficult.”…Leeland Chamber of Commerce.

The Leelanau Peninsula is located in the northwest corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. The name is said to be derived from a Native American word meaning “delight of life”. Others call it the Third Coast or the North Coast. The grapevines and wineries were my inspiration for these lacy rib socks, knit from cuff to toe. The pattern is easily remembered so pour yourself a glass of merlot from one of the wineries, cast on and knit yourself a pair of Leelanau’s!
