Here’s a great way to use up all of those odds and ends and left-over bits of yarn that you don’t want to part with once you have completed a project. Use any fiber or yarn brand to complete this project. Mix and match your fibers to create a great little hostess gift for a friend. A set of four can be made with as little as 52 yards of yarn and can be completed in about 45 minutes from start to finish.

I use a hook that is generally a bit smaller than the recommended yarn size to make a nice tight weave. You could easily increase the size of your finished project simply by adding an additional round or two before finishing with reverse sc.

There are many lovely coaster patterns available here on Ravelry. This is just my version of a simple coaster pattern idea. Enjoy!
