It’s been an amazing experience designing independent knitting patterns these last 12+ years. And throughout it, the many life changes, including a fantastic full-time job, have pulled me from my ability to maintain the upkeep and customer service needed. I’ve decided to close the store and retire all the patterns. It may not be forever, but I need to follow my heart towards other projects for now.

My patterns and pattern support will no longer be available after August 1, 2021.

Until that date, please enjoy a closing discount of 50% off on all patterns (no coupon code needed). Thank you for so many years of support and knitting!

Legato is a beautiful melding of lace and cables, but in a surprisingly easy project! This shawl is worked from the bottom up, flat, beginning with the border. The best part about a crescent-shaped shawlette is that it is an instant gratification project - easy start, easy construction, and quick end. Add in that stunning stitch pattern and you are all set.

With this pattern, you are getting clearly written instructions AND charted instructions that have been heavily reviewed and edited. Crisp, detailed photographs and a clean, bright pattern layout add a bit of joy to your pattern buying experience.

In my world, there aren’t any hard and fast rules to shawls - switch around the yarn and/or needle sizes, play with the depth, or try a multi-color yarn. Just remember that while gauge is not critical to the finished piece, it does affect the amount of yarn used so be sure to adjust this in your planning.

This is one of my favorite pieces and I hope it becomes yours, as well.
