Leithen Shawl
Leithen is that kind of shawl you reach for again and again, light, soft, and just interesting enough to keep things fun without being fiddly. It’s an asymmetrical triangle shape, so it drapes beautifully and looks great whether you wear it wrapped close or thrown over your shoulders.
The pattern uses two skeins of multicoloured yarn and one skein of a solid to ground it, and that mix really lets the colours pop without feeling overwhelming. I used yarn that falls somewhere between fingering and sport weight (100 g / 400 m), and it worked up with a lovely soft drape.
Once you get going, the stitch pattern becomes really meditative, perfect for a few rows here and there or a cosy weekend project.
Finished size: approx. 190 x 50 cm.
Just the right kind of “ta-da” project that’s wearable, giftable, and satisfying to make.
