Lenya is a crescent shaped scarf/shawl that is knitted with mitered triangles, each created completely, one at a time, and then knitting across all the triangles a lace section is worked. The finish is a short row section that gives the piece a graceful curve.

You determine the size by your gauge and the number of triangles you create before you begin the back-and-forth sections.

Any skein of sock yarn between 400 and 450 yards should be plenty.

This pattern is named in memory of Lenya Lusko who died of an asthma attack at age 5. Her father, Levi Lusko recently published a book about her and the family’s journey since her death called Through the Eyes of a Lion. Check it out.
