Leonardo Da Vinci is widely known as an artist, but he also made great contributions to science. Among his many areas of interest was the study of proportions in nature, something that has inspired this shawl, the second in my “Scientists” shawl collection. This shawl consists of three design/construction elements, all worked entirely with garter. These three design elements can be combined in three different ways to create different effects in the final product. You can work this shawl in one color or many, it can be fully customized to whatever yardage you want, the key is the proportions of your yardage that you’ll need for each segment.

Here are links to examples of each configuration:
Configuration 1
Configuration 2
Configuration 3

Helpful hint: Placing a removable marker at the half-way point on the sideways segment 1 will make it easier to find this point later when you pick up stitches.

The Scientists shawl collection features four patterns released between November 2014 and January 2015. You may purchase each pattern individually or as part of the collection. All patterns in the collection include both charted and written instructions as well as guidance for adjusting the size of the shawls as needed. Schematics noting the sizes can be found in the pattern photos for each pattern.

Please keep in mind that if you buy the patterns individually, you will not get discounts or credits given towards the eBook purchase price after purchasing individual patterns.
