Sitting by the winter fire, knitting this shawl, listening to Bon Jovi’s Lost Highway album I felt calm and happy. This is knitting I thought, creating joy, comfort and warmth with every stitch. Hence Lost Highway was born. This lighter sister version was inspired by a line in the chorus, “I’m busting loose, I’m letting go”, which I also think knitting is all about. The meditativeness of knitting helps us process and let go of things we’re holding on to.
