LEVANT is reminiscent of fans, origami and more generally of the graphic lines quintessential of the Japanese aesthetic.
A succession of embossed biased strips of garter stitch results in a sinuous path that slowly leads your knitting to its destination…
It is shown here in a 5-color gradient version but will look equally beautiful in a single color.

Construction
LEVANT is knit flat in garter stitch and shaped with short rows. It is formed of a succession of fan-like sections growing alternatively in one direction then the other.

Yarn
The Plucky Knitter Primo Fingering (75% Merino, 20% Cashmere, 5% Nylon, 440 yds / 402 m – 115 g)
5 skeins in the I Lilac You gradient.
Or 2000 yds / 1830 m of fingering yarn.

Gauge
22 sts x 45 rows to 4” / 10 cm on Size A needles in garter stitch, after blocking (slightly stretched horizontally).
Gauge is not critical, as long as you like the obtained fabric.

Finished dimensions
Width approx. 24.5” / 62 cm
Length approx. 83” / 211 cm after blocking

Note about yardage and size
The Plucky Primo Fingering I used for this sample had a yardage of 385/skein. If you use the new version of this yarn, which has 440 yds/skein, you will be able to work a 2-section repeat once or twice more, if you are so inclined.
