This is a pattern for a fairly large triangular shawl (86 inches across the top with a 36 inch drop), that is comprised of two stitches. The side stitches are a true lace, and the center stitch is a drop stitch cable stitch. If you’ve never tried a drop stitch cable, I think you’ll enjoy this, and it does show off the variegated yarns especially well. Together they make a wonderful shawl. I used bright colors in this one, however, you can make it a single color, which would give it a much more sophisticated look. You can, of course make the entire shawl using just the drop stitch cable.

There are clear blocking instructions contained within the pattern as well as instructions for both an optional edging and optional tassels.

The stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a good working knowledge of cable-lace knitting.)
Skill Level for the optional Edging: Beginner + (assuming a working knowledge of crocheting)

The shawl shown in the sample was made using Lorna’s Laces Sportmate yarn in colorway, St. Charles

The sample was expertly test knitted by Rachel McKinney (100creations on Ravelry) who can be contacted at:100creations @gmail.com.
