From the pattern:

I’ve always loved the beauty, energy, and mystery of dragonflies. They symbolize power, change, joy, and good things to come. They come in countless colors, sizes, and types, but every one is beautiful in its own right, just like people - the people that will make and wear these hats. If done in variegated yarn, each dragonfly will have its own unique blend of colors, just like the real ones.

The fingering weight yarn allows for a more detailed colorwork pattern that repeats 7 or 8 times, depending on the size hat you’re making. Please check gauge carefully. Most testers got what they wanted from it, but some test hats were larger than desired, so if you knit loosely, you will need to be extra careful.

Please let me know if there are any questions about the pattern or anything I need to change or clarify. I hope you enjoy it and the resulting hats!
